125exchange.com website is suspended. Bloggers surprised.

Bloggers are surprised of the sudden suspension of 125exchange.com. As we all remember 125exchange is a website that offers page impressions per page impression advertising exchange among blogs and websites. I for one have signed up my blogs for this. But now all users can see is a message saying that the account had been suspended.

The 125exchange.com system is very promising because you earn credits per impressions earned in your site and vice versa. Although I have not really analyzed whether my blogs have generated any visits referred by this since the ads changes per page load.

The suspension of 125exchange.com will definitely have an impact on its members specially regarding the credibility of the program. Or they might be changing host and upgrading the system. Well let us just wait and see.

Interesting Facts About HIV Aids, Condoms and Reproductive Health

It is really great that Entrecard is here for it increases bloggers to bump at interesting topics. Here I found two articles worth linking and citing on this article since there is an ongoing debate in the Philippines about Reproductive Health. Thanks to peripheries... Looking where you shouldn’t

First I would like to introduce the readers on how a condom is made by playing the video below...

The second would be an article comparing the prevalence of HIV Aids in the Philippines and in Thailand. I think this article is really worth reading as well.

Finally, pro-life and other anti-condoms lobbyists, Christian fundamentalists and their ilk, wants us to believe that abstinence has been doing, is doing and will be doing miracle. They want us to believe that Filipino men go back home after work and enjoy a cold beer watching TV with their wife whilst heterosexual intercourse accounts for the majority (61 percent) of the Philippines’ reported /AIDS cases...

Global Oil Giants Profiting from Prices Bloated by Speculation (Damn You!)

The rising prices of oil had made a global uproar and rise in prices of commodities. Are these rise in prices justifiable or are these brought about by greedy oil producers? Well you be the judge... Here is the IBON Foundation Press Release...

World oil prices are bloated by speculation in oil markets, and local firms Petron, Shell, and Chevron Philippines which are domestic agents of the global oil monopolies are passing on this overpricing to consumers. This has resulted in record oil industry profits at the expense of hyper-inflation.

It is hard to quantify how much of the recent oil price increases are due to speculation but the steepness of increases in the past year in the absence of correspondingly large shifts in supply and demand fundamentals suggest that this is significant. A 2006 study by the United States Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations for instance had already estimated that as much as 30% or more of the prevailing crude price at the time was due to speculation- driven purchases. Applying this to how the cost of crude oil accounts for around 75% of the local pump price of fuel (based on the DOE estimate of crude/product costs in diesel and gasoline prices of the oil industry and importers) implies that over 20% of local pump prices are due to speculation- driven overpricing.

The monopoly oil transnationals already rake in billions of super-profits from inflating the price of their oil. This monopoly pricing has been further bloated since last year by increasing speculation in world oil market. The deepening financial and economic crisis especially since mid-2007 has seen big financial investors, especially oil firms recycling their accumulating profits, shifting money into commodity markets particularly in oil, food and gold.

It is likely that the current bloating of oil prices due to speculation today will be even more than estimated by the 2006 US Senate report inasmuch as speculative investments in energy commodities today are double the US$100-150 billion levels around the time the report was made. This has already been acknowledged by among others even the Saudi Arabian and German governments, US government officials and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Thus, any effort to address the global problem of high oil prices has to squarely address the monopoly domination and price manipulation of the big oil corporations. The energy industry is too critical and strategic to be left in the hand of private profit-maximizing interests. The ease with which local oil firms can pass on this manipulated increase in global oil prices on top of built-in overpricing underscores the need for genuine regulation of the domestic oil industry to, at the very least, rein in such excessive profiteering at the people’s expense. (end)

Fifth Grego book now off the press

The third printing of “The American Blackmails on the Philippines and the World”, a fifth book published by Congress Magazine and written by author, professor, historian, and veteran journalist Dr. Frank Grego is now off the press.

The 250-page book is a product of Grego’s critical thinking and highly analytical lectures before his graduate and post-graduate students where he traces the American oppression, persecution and repression against the Philippines , Mexico , Puerto Rico , Nicaragua , Cuba , Haiti , Sto. Domino, Hawaii and other weaker nations since 1898.

Written in the crunchy, coherent, and emphatic style of an award winning author, editor, columnist, and academe, the book could be crisply read in three hours. It is a sequel to his first book, The American Violations from 1898 to 1978.

Grego’s other books were Powers and Functions of Batasang Pambansa, Dictatorship under the Guise of a Unicameral Parliament, History of the Philippine Congress from Tejeros in 1897 to Batasan in 2007, and the Spratlys, now a Casket in the Bathtub.

The renowned author is also a speechwriter of 16 congressmen; chairman of the selection committee that proclaims the annual 30 Most Outstanding Congressmen since 1992; a most sought biographer of the members of Congress, editor of Congress Magazine, and columnist of Trade Express Asia.

Olive Riley, Worlds Oldest Blogger Dies at 108

Olive Riley, the worlds oldest blogger on record died July 13 at a Nursing Home. Riley, had made her last post on her blog at age 108. This proves that blogging is not only for teens or the young but for people of all ages. In her final post, dated June 26, an increasingly frail Olive noted she couldn't "shake off that bad cough".

The Good and the Bad News Around Us extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Olive Riley. She had made a mark in the blogosphere that will be remembered forever. May she inspire every blogger to continue to strive and deliver good blogs and post to all.

Olive had posted almost a hundred entries on her blog, or as she jokingly labelled it, her "blob", since February last year. The ardent Sydney Swans AFL fan shared her day-to-day musings and her life's experiences raising three children on her own, living through two world wars and the Depression, her work as a station cook in rural Queensland and as an egg sorter and barmaid in Sydney.

Olive's musing live on at http://www.allaboutolive.com.au and more recently at http://worldsoldestblogger.blogspot.com.

Earthquake on Friday, July 18, 2008 Might Happen

The predicted magnitude 8.1 earthquake in the Philippines by Juseleeno Nobulega Daroose (real name Jucelino Nobrega da Luz) might actually happen. All her prediction might actually come true after all if she eventually succeeds in convincing people that this event will occur and set their mind in believing her predictions. Why I am saying this? Well read on...

The human brain is believed to have the capacity to make things happen and to actualize things that we want to see or to occur. In the Bible itself it was said that words can move mountains. These words and thoughts combined can actually create an energy that might trigger this phenomenon to happen on July 18.

As of now I am hearing people instructing their children not to go to school and even themselves preparing for it. The negative wave of energy being generated by a hoax and bogus prediction like this might make it a reality after all.

But the thing is who knows if it is indeed false as well. When Noah told the people that there will be a big flood no one believed him and indeed there was a flood. One of the greatest fortune teller, Nostradamus predicted many things and many of them where believed to have actually happened.

The best thing we can do is NOT TO BELIEVE THAT AN EARTHQUAKE WILL OCCUR. Juseleeno Nobulega Daroose's prediction of an earthquake on July 12, 2008 WILL NOT HAPPEN AND WE WILL ALL BE SAFE.

Do not put any attention to it and focus your mind on your everyday work and schedule. Pray and let God be your shield and protector.

And if an earthquake do occur do not panic and never ever think that it was what Juseleeno Nobulega Daroose had predicted. We will be safe and no disaster will occur on July 18. There will be no earthquake on July 18, 2008.

Amnesty International Ignores Rights of the Unborn

Amnesty International Pushes Mexican High Court to Uphold Legal Abortion
By Piero A. Tozzi and Juan Carlos Perez

Global human rights group Amnesty International (AI), which officially abandoned its neutrality on abortion in 2007, has authored a pro-abortion legal memorandum addressed to the Supreme Court of Mexico asking the high court to uphold liberal abortion in Mexico City. The memorandum directly contradicts AI's previous position that "there is no generally accepted right to abortion in international human rights law."

AI's memo supports a liberalized first-trimester abortion law passed last year by Mexico City's Legislative Assembly that has been challenged by Mexico's Attorney General. AI cites several treaties signed by Mexico, including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the Convention Against Torture, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, claiming that they require the Court to uphold the legislation.

As AI had previously acknowledged, however, no such right can be found in any of the treaties mentioned in AI's legal brief. Human rights treaties are consensus documents negotiated by governments, many of which outlawed abortion at the time of ratification, and thus are silent on the subject of abortion. To underscore that such treaties would leave their domestic laws unchanged, some countries made explicit formal interpretative statements and reservations at the time of signing protecting the rights of the unborn child.

AI's submission cites no treaty language in support of its argument that a failure to uphold the challenged law would "result in violations of Mexico's international human rights obligations. " The Amnesty brief does, however, reference a report by a UN treaty monitoring body, the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, which pressured the Mexican government on abortion in 2006. Such committees are composed of unelected members many of whom are drawn from pro-abortion non-governmental organizations. Such committees take it upon themselves to reinterpret treaties and then try to get governments to agree even though committee pronouncements are non-binding.

AI's new approach apparently mirrors strategy adopted by the pro-abortion Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR), which along with the International Commission of Jurists filed a third-party intervention in the Mexico City case. In 2006, CRR had persuaded Colombia's constitutional court to overturn that country's pro-life laws based on the argument that by acceding to various treaties, a sovereign nation must conform its domestic laws to subsequent treaty body interpretations of what constitutes its evolving obligations.

AI was founded in 1961 by Peter Benenson, a Catholic convert, to combat human rights abuses by totalitarian and authoritarian regimes. Compared with more secular-oriented human rights counterparts, Amnesty International has historically drawn support from members of various
religious denominations. After decades of defending human dignity without compromising the rights of the unborn, its 2007 abortion policy switch alienated a number of its long-time supporters, including Scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien, Bishop Michael Evans -- a member of thirty years standing -- and activist priest Daniel Berrigan, S.J., all of whom have withdrawn support from AI as a result.

Over 1,000 “green” pledges and two Singapore Book of Records challenges broken

SINGAPORE – The Double A RE-live! @ Atrium carnival concluded June 16 at The Atrium @ Orchard. Organised by the Environmental Challenge Organisation (Singapore), the 11-day environmentally-themed carnival was launched on World Environment Day, June 5, 2008, by Mr. Teo Ser Luck, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Community Development, Youth and Sports, and has pulled together more than 1,000 pledges to practise alternative modes of transport and the “7 Easy Green Habits”.

The Double A-sponsored carnival is the largest collaboration between students, governmental and non-governmental organisations and the corporate sector in Singapore. The event was co-organised by students from Earthlink NTU, RJC One Earth, SMU Verts and Youth Connection X. The purpose of the event was to educate and inform the public on the importance of leading more environmentally sustainable lifestyles through a wide variety of events and activities.

One of the key attractions, the Bike-a-thon, managed to clock over 22,000 km of distance on bicycles. For the equivalent distance travelled, an average car would have emitted 4,400 kg of CO2. The objective of this event was to gain public support for more eco-friendly modes of transports like cycling through participation. In addition, the carnival saw two Singapore Book of Records challenges broken. Participants managed to set new records for the longest distance travelled on stationary bicycles for six and 12 hours.

Mr Teng Weixiong won a pair of tickets to a private island on Phuket, Thailand, for having pledged to adopt the “7 Easy Green Habits”. This was proudly sponsored by Double A.

According to Mr Xu Yang, 24, Director for Bike-a-thon, “We hope that the Bike-a-thon experience has taught people in Singapore to make more informed choices of the various modes of transport they use everyday. I am glad that the people who took part walked away with this valuable message”.

Another highlight of the carnival was the Green Mile walk which promoted another eco-friendly transport alternative. About 100 participants took part in the 5.5 km walk on June 8, Sunday.

“Organising this walk was very satisfying as it allowed me to share with the participants the many green conservation areas in Singapore’s central district where one can escape to at anytime of the day,” said Ms. Shauna Khoo, Director of the Green Mile walk.

“This is the first time that such a large-scale activity has been initiated and organised by young people,” said Mr. Jeevaneswaran Ramoo, Project Chairman of Double A RE-live! @ Atrium. “It went well with support from several partners in both the public and private sectors. Given the success of the outreach for this event, we hope to hold it again in coming years”

The event has reached out to more than 10,000 members of the public throughout the 11 days of the carnival with events such as a bazaar, contests and games.

For video and photographs of the event, you can find them on:

Cigarette is 100% Dangerous to Your Health

There is a massive campaign to curve smoking around the world. It has been found out finally at least that smoking does nothing good to our body. Before smoking was like something hot and part of pop culture though it continues to be up to this day in most countries but at least now the ads are lessened and the messages are closely monitored. Before even the Flintstones endorsed a cigarette brand.

Flintstones endorsing Winston Cigarettes.

Another video shows that cigarettes can freshen your breath and softens the air.

What on the world is this for? It seems that the addiction for cigarette had been brought by subliminal commercials like this. Around the world thousand dies of cancer from smoking with another half of them dying even though they are second degree smokers. Second degree smokers are those which do not smoke but gets smoke from the smoker.

Old Ad for Salem Cigarettes

A big advise to my dear readers if you are a smoker please stop smoking and if you are not a smoker yet please do not smoke. Save your kids and save other people.
